Jan Skoček (Prostějov, 1991) has studied at the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague, in the studio led by Ivan Kroupa (2011-2017). During his studies he completed one semester with German architect Ivan Reimann  - Müller Reimann Architekten (2014) and one semester in the studio of Type Design and Typography led by Tomáš Brousil and Radek Sidun (2016). In 2014 he joined Prague based architectural platform which combines architectural practice with educational programs - organizing and hosting lectures, workshops and exhibitions. During his studies he was involved in the workshops series “City and Disaster“, where he led an international group of students from NYIT (New York), INDA (Bangkok) and AAAD (Prague). The results were later exhibited at DOX (Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague). In 2017 he graduated at Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague. His thesis has received honorable mention by the Czech Chamber of Architects and was shortlisted in Diploma Works Overview. In 2017 he started his internship in the architectural office Christ & Gantenbein based in Basel, where he spent a full year and was involved in the project of gallery and administrative centre for the Lindt company in Zurich. In 2018 he returned from Switzerland and worked on competition with his former professor Ivan Kroupa. Later on he joined Ječmen studio, a small architectural office, in the city of Olomouc where he works in different scales from urban planning to small scale houses, currently being responsible for several housing projects. In 2019 he was selected by XY gallery for their residential program with a project called "Mapping" where he was mapping, collecting, redrawing and describing a regional phenomenon of brick facades on vernacular architecture with the aim to build up an open digital database to preserve this phenomenon.
